Survivor's Guide to Visting LKY @ Parliament House



Bring along these items:
  1. At least 500ml of drinking water
  2. A book to read
  3. Tablet
  4. An umbrella (in case it rains or simply to avoid the sun)
  5. A fully charged smartphone
  6. A fully charged mobile device battery
  7. A towel
  8. Some snacks
  9. Tiger Balm (just in case)
Start queuing with an empty bladder (and possibly go with budd(ies) in case you need to visit the loo).

Estimated waiting time for those starting the queue at noon (Wed, 25 March 2015) is 3-4 hours.

    "Due to overwhelming response from members of the public, the lying in state at Parliament House will be open 24 hours daily from today until 28 Mar 2015, 8pm.

    From 7am, 26 March, onwards, those who would like to pay their respects to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew during the lying in state may wish to note that the line to enter Parliament House begins at the Padang. The public is advised to take public transport."

  2. Just found an alternative "A Survival Guide to Mourning Lee Kuan Yew".

    In summary:
    1. Read the news before you leave the house.
    2. Speak to the police officers stationed along the queue to find out where you should go to join the queue.
    3. Dress respectfully.
    4. Essentials you might want to bring: Water, Umbrella, Raincoat, Paper or portable fan, Wet tissues, Pens, Ipad / book / extra phone batteries
    5. DON'T try to cut the queue.
